STRAIGHT BETTING

The The most popular form of betting on sports is a straight bet. This means that you are picking which team will win the game. When placing a baseball straight bet you are choosing the winning team outright but when betting on football or basketball there is generally a point spread as part of the wager. For example if you are picking the team with a (-) negative number then you would subtract those points from your teams score.

Ex: Miami (-) 9 If you bet this team then Miami would have to win the game by 9 points or more in order for you to win your bet.

If you chose a team that has a (+) positive number then you would add these points to your team's total.

Ex: Denver (+) 2 If you made this wager then Denver could lose the game by 1 or 2 points and you would still win or push on your wager.

Although this is the most popular form of sports betting its always good to add the excitement of an exotic from time to time to shake things up a little. The payoff is much higher but with that comes the higher risk.
