5Dimes is not making a big reach with the defending champion Packers and Patriots with the lowest odds at +700 to win the Super Bowl. Other teams will obviously be in the mix and BetUs also gave the Falcons good betting odds since they made a huge draft risk to trade away many picks to move up and give their dynamic offense another weapon in WR Julio Jones.
Green Bay Packers Odds: +700
The Packers rode Aaron Rodgers all the way to a Super Bowl win last season and they will likely still have a solid defense, but they could use some help defending the run. In the regular season they struggled to move the ball on the ground, but with a healthy RB Ryan Grant and an emerging star in RB James Starks they may not have that problem this season. Rodgers got some help in the draft since Green Bay took OT Derek Sherrod with their first pick.
New England Patriots Odds: +700
The Patriots will have Tom Brady and an explosive offense again, but how will their young defense perform? They have the talent, but need to defend the pass better this season. New England had a solid draft and besides taking OT Nate Solder in the first round they may have got a steal in the second round taking CB Ras-I Dowling.
Pittsburgh Steelers Odds: +1000
Ben Roethlisberger did not play well in the Super Bowl last season and this season he will not begin on the suspended list and he hopes to stay healthy for the entire season. Their D will be the strength again and they used their first and third round picks to take defensive players. RB Rashard Mendenhall was stellar last season and he will have to be a workhorse, yet again, for the Pittsburgh offense.
San Diego Chargers Odds +1200
Phillip Rivers played great last season and the defense played well, but the key to the Chargers this season may be at the RB position. Ryan Mathews was a rookie last season and often injured and is he is healthy San Diego will have a great offense, especially if Rivers gets some WR help. They used their first and second round draft picks to take DT Corey Liuget and DB Marcus Gilchrist.
Atlanta Falcons +1400
The Falcons mortgaged their next 2 drafts to move up to take stud rookie WR Julio Jones and he alongside WR Roddy White with QB Matt Ryan give Atlanta a scary offense. RB Michael Turner may have a huge season since teams will key on the pass. There are still defensive issues in Atlanta, especially defending the pass.
There are a few other teams with good betting odds and a few have won the Super Bowl in the last few years in the Saints (+1400), Colts (+1500), and Giants (+1600)
